FASHION FAIL: Lupita Nyongo tops worst dressed celebs at SAG Awards

Usually Lupita Nyong’o can do no wrong when it comes to the red carpet. But at the recent SAG Awards, her Elie Saab gown earned her a place on DailyMail’s worst-dressed list for the first time.

The stunning 12 Years a Slave star was drowned by the gown’s long sleeves and full skirt, while the print – black stripes over a digital floral motif – was overwhelming. The result was that the dress wore her, rather than the other way around.

And Lupita was not the only one. While most of the stars in attendance played it safe, not all of the fashion risks paid off.

On the other hand, it will surprise you that some other fashion outfit think differently of what Lupita wore. According to Female Fashion Finder:

Lupita Nyong’o is always one to watch during awards season, continually stunning us with her outfit selections.

She started off the night at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in a floor-length Elie Saab gown from the pre-fall collection and for the after-party she simply swapped it for the shorter version! Genius. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it – right?

Both dresses looked stunning on the 12 Years a Slave star – the floral and stripe combination providing a striking look.

You can also explore beautiful gowns to help you channel her red-carpet look and some cool printed shorter dresses so you can swap styles like a true diva and get the party started.

Pay particular attention to the dress from Saks, we think it emulates Lupita’s look perfectly.

Now it becomes a question: “Did Lupita fail with this dress or not?
