Rita Ora vows never to sing about her ex-boyfriends

As a side effect of her pop star status, Rita Ora has endured two high-profile break-ups – with Robert Kardashian and Calvin Harris – in recent years.

And while the 24-year-old singer readily admits that she’s outspoken on a number of matters, it appears that she won’t be following in Taylor Swift’s footsteps by penning tracks about her exes.

‘I don’t think I care enough about them to write a song about them,’ she told John Harlow of the Sunday Times’ Style magazine. ‘I will be unleashed but I know my limits.’

The London-based beauty famously split from Under Control hitmaker Calvin, 31, last year and was subsequently banned from singing any of the tracks he had produced for her upcoming album.

During a recent acoustic performance of the former couple’s hit I Will Never Let You Down, Rita noticeably changed the lyrics to ‘I might have let you down’.

And Rita now claims that the lyrical switch was to show people that she isn’t ‘ashamed’ of her failed relationship.

She explained: ‘I interpreted it like that because I wanted people to see I wasn’t ashamed.

‘It’s normal for a 23-year-old to have a failed relationship, but the difference is, there are a lot of people watching. You know, it’s life.’

For the past few months, Rita has been dating Tommy Hilfiger’s aspiring rapper son, Ricky Hil – and it was recently reported that he moved into her London home.

Meanwhile, the Voice UK judge has a busy schedule this month since she is set to hit the big screen in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Rita is also potentially in line to collect her very first Brit Award after being nominated for Best Single along with ex-boyfriend Calvin.

Calvin, for last year’s hit Summer, while Rita has been nominated for I Will Never Let You Down, which was co-written and produced by her former beau.

The couple ended their year-long relationship last June, and the singer may well be forced to publicly thank Calvin, the brains behind her latest hit, should she win.
